Rotavirus vaccine is an oral vaccine that helps protect infants over the age of 6 weeks against gastroenteritis caused by the rotavirus. This infection can cause severe diarrhea, vomiting, fever, and dehydration.

Immunization schedule—The rotavirus vaccine may be administered at 6–12 weeks of age. The series of immunizations should not be started after the age of 12 weeks and the final dose should be administered before 32 months of age (2 years and 8 months).
