It’s possible to drown in as little as an inch or two of water—in a matter of minutes. In babies and young children, sinks, bathtubs, buckets and pails and toilets are drowning dangers. Swimming pools (even baby pools) and open water—lakes, ponds, oceans—pose a drowning risk.
