Apply a moisturizing skin cream, lotion or oil liberally to your skin (several times a day, if necessary) to keep it moist and help prevent drying and cracking. Avoid alcohol-based products, which can dry the skin, and those containing lanolin if you're sensitive or allergic. For very dry skin, oils may be more effective.
