Salmon contains omega-3 fatty acids that help maintain healthy brain and nerve cells. Eat fatty fish along with the other essentials of a Mediterranean diet—whole grains, nuts and fresh produce—and you may also cut your risk of Alzheimer’s disease by 40 to 60 percent, according to research.

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp lime juice
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 3 8-ounce salmon fillets
  • 1 cup green or fruit salsa
  • 4 cups shredded cabbage
  • 1 tomato, chopped
  • 1/2 white onion, minced
  • 1 cup black beans
  • 1 avocado, cubed
  • 18 soft corn tortillas
  • 1/2 cup nonfat yogurt

Directions

1. Heat grill to medium high.

2. Combine 1 Tbsp lime juice with oil and spices in a bowl and marinate salmon for 10 minutes.

3. Toss salsa and cabbage in a bowl and set aside.

4. Grill salmon 8 minutes, turning after 4 minutes. Meanwhile, mix tomato, onion, beans and avocado with remaining lime juice and set aside.

5. Fill warmed tortillas with salmon chunks and top with salsas and yogurt.
